BPM a key to enabling business with SOA
I get a fair amount of email with comments on my blog entries… usually people mention they have company policies that prohibit them from commenting on public blogs, (mostly Tier-1 Banks), so they send their comments via email instead of posting. Because I comment on SOA in the Financial Services industry, a lot of folks that have something to say generally have to do it privately. At the risk of losing a regular commenter (I’ll keep the names private to protect the innocent) I would like to make mention of a comment on my blog entry BPM Utilities by themselves versus SOA, SaaS and Content.
The comment makes reference to an article here, written by Kaushal Mashruwala in Financial Express, who makes the point that BPM is a key to SOA enabling business executives and managers to identify with, which is very important because business people don’t understand SOA generally. The combination of BPM is an enabling fixture in SOA, which allows business management to tangibly understanding what SOA does, in particular it’s benefits. BPM with SOA empowers business people with the power to control their own destiny in many cases.
I couldn’t agree with Kaushal more, as he puts it: “This role of BPM as the business face of SOA is not just a possibility. It’s happening now.” Indeed, BPM is the business face of SOA.
Thanks for the heads upon this article; I think it solidifies my early points quite well. Keep the comments coming, even if they are via email in lieu of posting on the blog-roll
