Job Title: Senior Security Engineer

Responsibilities:
A strong experience with architecture design and development/scripting experience is key along with Microsoft operating system internals.
The Security Engineer will provide development and lifecycle support to Security Information and Event Management tools, metrics, governance teams. Team management expertise is also helpful.

This position is responsible for providing technical expertise in security metrics, governance dashboards, log and event management, report generation, and development.

Responsibilities:
- Customize and design Security Metrics tools.
- Managing global projects across a large regionally diverse enterprise
- Document all operations procedures and conduct formal training associated with SIEM procedures and services.
- Responsible for developing and designing a web based metrics portal to automate security governance models.
- Customize parsers for new device feeds for the SIEM tool.
- Responsible for continuing education and certification in relation to security products offered.
- Participate on new product development with engineering team members concerning tools and other security-based solutions. Review designs and provide constructive feedback to ensure these designs will be easy to support in the field.
- Seek industry and market information to provide the information necessary for successful business development.
- Able to travel as needed.
- Building security metrics, operations, SIEM products across a financial services regulated company.
- Travel 10%

Requirements:
- BigFix and Altiris engineering and development
- Database experience preferred. SQL Database experience highly preferred. (SQL administration and scripting)
- Unix scripting, and programming in Perl, Java, or C++ preferred.
- User Level Unix, Linux, Solaris experience required.
- SIEM or other Event Correlation experience preferred.
- Microsoft Windows administration automation experience preferred.
- Firewall, IDS/IDP, and/or Network Access technologies experience preferred.
- Must understand TCP/IP and sub-netting of WAN/LAN networks.
- Ability to teach and communicate to others.
- Ability to manage large long term security projects.
- College Degree preferred
- 3-5 years+ of experience managing, building security metrics and security engineering functions in a financial services regulated enterprise
